How to enter

TheGameCreators judges are looking for a fun, casual game that helps UK learner drivers expand their knowledge of car driving.

Games should aim to satisfy these points:

  • Be a simple and fun casual game
  • The game must be played in portrait mode
  • A game session should only last a few minutes
  • It ideally should feature an online leader board
  • The game should work flawlessly on any aspect ratio of device
  • The game should aim to teach something about any of these subjects: UK Theory Test, Hazard Perception, Road Signs and/or The Highway Code.

Rules

  1. The Game must be created in AppGameKit Tier1 BASIC script
  2. The Game cannot use any extra plugins
  3. The Game’s size should not be larger than 10 Megabytes
  4. You must submit an AppGameKit project with all source code and media
  5. All media used in your game must be copyright free or used with written permission
  6. You can only submit a game as an individual. If you win, only one prize will be awarded and will be paid to that individual
  7. The Game should be touch based and designed to work on mobile devices (iPhones, Android phones, iPad and Android tablets)
  8. By entering you grant exclusive automatic rights to The Game Creators and Focus Multimedia to use your game in whatever promotional manner they see fit, on whatever media they wish (print, digital, audio, televisual, etc)
  9. In exchange for the prize money you will pass the full copyright of the game and media to TheGameCreators
  10. The Competition starts on 26th June and the closing date for the competition is 31st August 2017 at 23:59 GMT
  11. The winner will be announced 20th September 2017
  12. You may submit your game at any stage before the closing date
  13. You may submit as many games into the competition as you wish. Each game must adhere to all of these rules
  14. The competition is open to AppGameKit developers worldwide
  15. No purchase is necessary. You do not need to own AppGameKit in order to enter, you can submit a game created with the Trial version of AppGameKit
  16. You must be over 18 years of age to enter

How to submit your game

  • You must provide the full game as an AppGameKit project zipped into a file
  • Upload the zip into a cloud provider (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc)
  • Send an email to TheGameCreators with this information:
  • Your full name
  • Your full postal address (street, town/city, state/county, country)
  • Your TGC forum name (if you have one)
  • The name of your game
  • A link to the download
  • Send the email to this address: dtsgame@thegamecreators.com

Tips

  • Keep it simple! Don’t make it too complex, the simplest ideas can be lots of fun
  • Check the spelling and grammar in your games
  • Aim for a slick and well-presented App
  • Test your game on friends and family
